Brandy R. Davis, Wife, Mom, Daughter, Granddaughter, Big Sister, Auntie, “Florida Girl” and Chief Family Organizer has always wanted to teach but not in a traditional sense. Her passion to educate, empower and enrich those in her community led her away from a 10 year career in Corporate America to diverse and fulfilling positions within Hamilton County. Since arriving in Cincinnati 16 years ago she has served as a GEARUP Coordinator, Dropout Recovery Program Manager, Tutoring Consultant, YMCA Site Coordinator and a GED Instructor. All of her past work experiences caught the eye of colleagues at Parents for Public Schools of Greater Cincinnati. At present she serves as the Board Chair of Parents for Public Schools of Greater Cincinnati and is thrilled that they are 2020 and 2022 recipients of the United Way Black Empowerment Works award. She is a proud licensed Crusader for financial freedom through Chuck Futel & Associates and has earned a B.S. in Psychology and a MBA in Applied Management. Many of her family and friends say she doesn’t meet a stranger. Outside of spending time with her family, traveling and singing are some of her most favorite things to do.
She believes:
You can learn from anyone or any situation.
Remember to show love to all.
Remember whose you are and who you work for.
Find joy and be grateful for each day God gives you … and have some fun along the way.
Terana Boyd serves as Customer Experience Coordinator with Cincinnati Works. She brings her enthusiasm and life experience to these roles supporting her Members in their job search and ensuring we have the necessary professional volunteers on hand to help with mock interviews, resume-building, and other needs.
Terana is the mother of three children 16, 15, and 6. She had been homeless before she moved to Cincinnati nearly 12 years ago. Since then, she has received her Associates degree and is currently attending the University of Cincinnati to obtain her Social Work Degree she has also completed Public Allies, an AmeriCorps program. As you can see Terana wears many hats, the most is important is being a mother to her children and advocating for the youth in her community. This is one of the many reasons which Terana has choose to serve on the board for Parent for Public Schools of Cincinnati. Being able to provide resources and confidence to parents is a big deal Terana said. Most importantly Terana is a community activist advocating for the lost voices in her community.
Ann Schoenenberger, MLIS
Ann works in a public library to encourage literacy and access to information for all. She has previously worked at Detroit Public Schools and the Dominican Literacy Center. Her favorite programs happen at public schools which is where she learned about Parents for Public Schools from another parent. Other than creating library space and programs for the people, she supports public education as the heart of our communities. She believes that the schools belong to the community and can be spaces to build the world we want to see. In Cincinnati, her work at PPS is to use her skills in collaboration with others to ensure every parent and every kid co-creates schools that provide the education they want, need and deserve.
